Many may not realize that Vintage Torque Fest is the largest music festival in Dubuque. This festival is a celebration of days gone past and has turned into a vintage lifestyle event catering to anyone who has interest in days before the British invasion and Summer of Love. Rockabilly, western swing, honky tonk, garage, surf, bluegrass, and yes, some psychobilly, will all be present at Dubuque County Fairgrounds. 20 entertainment acts on 3 stages on May 3 & 4 make this THE event to kick off the 2019 Festival season. Musical acts from all over the country will be headed to Iowa to entertain the masses.
Headlining the festival is Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys. Deke Dickerson will be taking the stage just before Big Sandy, so don’t be surprised if you see them doing some tunes together! There will be the B-Stars from San Francisco CA and Jinx Jones from Oakland CA will be hitting the stage as well. The Native Howl will be bringing their high energy thrash-grass to the stage on Friday night along with perennial favorites, Surf Zombies and 3 On The Tree.bigsandyJPG
This is a rain or shine event designed to have a good time, and help raise money for children with congenital heart defects.
Vintage Torque Fest is a fundraiser for Helping Hannah’s Heart Foundation – a 501(c)3 designed to directly help families dealing with financial hardships due to hospital bills, costs of medicine, deductibles, and missing work due to extended hospital stays. Thus far HHH has helped raise over $50,000 for families.
